Travis Jr. Age 12

I am a 4-H club member, I raise and Show sheep.
I won Reserve Champion Ram with Brutus at the Sacramento County Fair.
I also won 4-H Champion Junior Showman, Champion Novice showman and 8th place in Round Robin. ( Master Showmanship )
I love to make Chocolate Chip Cookies.
This is the Best Chocolate Chip Recipe ever. It is my Mom’s, but I make it better.

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  • Cream together 1 cup of real organic butter with 2 cups of unrefined sugar.
  • Add in 3 free range organic eggs and 1 tbsp. of real vanilla. Mix it all up until creamy.
  • Next add in 3 cups of unbleached organic flour (mix in 1 cup at a time to make the cookies extra soft) and 1 tsp. of baking soda and 1 tsp. sea salt.
  • Mix well, then here is the best part...add the chocolate chips!
  • Drop on a cookie sheet however big you want to make them, bake for 8-10 minutes depending on if you want them well done or med-rare.
  • For super yumminess eat then hot and fresh...enjoy!

I am also in 4-H, I show lambs. I love to bake and help my mom with the family.
I enjoy sewing, knitting and weaving, and any craft that you do with strings.
This summer I am in the middle of making blankets for the homeless, from the wool my dad sheared off of the sheep.
I also like helping out with community clean up. This year we cleaned up our park, local pond, and did a beach clean up.
I enjoy helping at church in the Nursery, and going to youth group.
I showed my lambs at the fair and we are getting ready to go to State Fair.
I have fun doing product demos with Dad.

Paisley, Age 8
I take a sewing class with my sisters. It is a lot of fun, and we have made a lot of neat things. We made 2 baby quilts for my twin baby sisters, they turned out nice. I like to work with the sheep along with my Dad and Travis. I love to paint. I love to practice showing the sheep. I have a Ewe named Speckles, and she has two lambs, Dusty and Dustin. I also have a Rabbit named Conner. She is a Broken Caster Rex. I am helping make blankets for the homeless. Washing the wool is fun, but dirty.
Ryelee
Ryelee, Age 6

I love helping my Mom and Dad with the new twins. I also go to sewing class – that is fun. I can do a flip on the trampoline. My favorite sheep are Pearl and Buffy. They are East Freisen milking sheep. They are really pretty and they come up to you. I have a rabbit named Zoey. She is so cute. She is brown and velvety. I took a painting class and painted a picture of a farm. I also like to have a restaurant at our house. My favorite is Ryelee's Italiano. I am the chef and the waitress. I am learning how to spin the wool for the blankets. I like going to the stores with Dad and talking to people and giving them samples.

Zane, Age 4

I like llamas. I like all farm animals and I like playing on the beach with my cousin Brad J. I saw a sea lion, and two sting rays. Brody is my lamb. Jr. is going to show him. He is Pearl’s baby.

Tyler, Age 2

I like talking on the phone, and going with mama. I help take care of Grace and Hope. I am potty trained now. I help daddy with the sheep. I help Jr. make Chocolate Chip cookies. I can sing.

With ten of us, the Potter Family is probably done expanding now, but our family of all-organic dairy products is constantly growing. From the beginning, Travis has been the creative genius of the crew.
Even when he’s bouncing the baby, he’s thinking about the next Big Idea.
